PARKING GENERALLY
These protocols have been developed in consultation with the field owners and local police. They are intended to address site constraints, promote the flow of traffic, ensure safety and enhance the Tournament experience for all participants.
- Coaches/Directors - Communicate with Your Team(s): Team coaches/directors are responsible to make sure parents/coaches/fans have read these instructions in advance. Parents/fans should peruse and print venue materials (site maps/parking information) for each venue in advance of the tournament and have these materials available for reference. All resources are available on the Tournament website - www.patriotgameslax.com.
- Plan Ahead and Carpool to optimize use of the facilities and your tournament experience! Parking space is at a premium.
- Please be Courteous: Whether parking on-site or off-site, be courteous and park immediately adjacent to the next car, so we utilize available parking spaces efficiently.
- Don't Restrict Access and the Flow of Traffic: Cones or other markers/barriers will be set up where needed to ensure the flow of pedestrian traffic, cart traffic and emergency field access and to protect "choke points." Do not remove cones or park in spaces that are not obvious parking spots. Do not double-park or park in any unauthorized locations. Please obey "no parking" and "fire lane" signs/markers. Honor the Game for the enjoyment and safety of everyone!
- Vehicles that impede the flow of traffic or create unsafe conditions may be ticketed or towed at the direction of the local police.
PARKING AT HERBST FIELD COMPLEX
There are four (4) tournament parking areas at the Herbst Field Complex Site - one is reserved for vehicles that display the Parking Passes distributed to each team (see Herbst Field Complex Site Map). If you don't have a Parking Pass, park in one of the off-site lots (Lots 1-3). If off-site lots are wet due to bad weather, we have additional off-site macadam lots lined up and will have a shuttle service in operation. Parking is free.
- "HERBST FIELD LOT" - RESERVED ONLY: Each team will receive 4 Parking Passes to access the Herbst Field Lot.
- Distribution of Parking Passes: We will forward the Parking Passes to the team contact approximately 7 to 10 days before the event. Each team contact is responsible to distribute Parking Passes to Key Team Parents/Drivers in advance of the event. Contacts/coaches are expected to focus on logistical details to optimize the team's experience.
- Allocate Parking Passes Strategically: ONLY VEHICLES WITH PASSES WILL BEPERMITTED TO PARK IN THE HERBST FIELD LOT, NO EXCEPTIONS (EXCEPTHANDICAP PARKING)
- Heavy Items: Parking at the Herbst Field Lot is limited. Be smart, plan ahead!Consolidate heavy items (coolers/ tents/equipment) in larger vehicles (SUVs) thathave Parking Passes to avoid having to haul items over several hundred yards fromoff-site Lots.
- Safety/Storm Contingency Planning: SUVs provide more shelter on-site in the event of a thunderstorm and having SUVs on-site should be part of each team's storm contingency planning.
- Display Parking Passes at all Times Upon Approach and On-Site: Hang them on the rear view mirror, face out): You will be directed to an off-site lot by Fire Police and/or Tournament Parking Marshals if you fail to display your Parking Pass.
- Parking Passes feature team names and cell numbers of coaches/contacts to facilitate communication and enforcement of event parking protocols. Coaches may want to ask the car owners also to write their cell number on the Parking Passes as well to help communication.
- Handicap Parking: Vehicles with handicap parking stickers will be permitted access to the Herbst Field Lot; handicap stickers must be on display at all times
- Drop Offs: Drop offs are permitted but back up traffic. Ideally, only vehicles with Parking Passes should enter the main driveway leading to the Herbst Field Lot. Drop off should be quick and organized, please do not loiter. Following drop offs, vehicles will be directed to adjacent Lots.
- "LOT #1" (YERKES FARM LOT): We will direct off-site parking to Lot 1 in the first instance. It is immediately adjacent to the Herbst Field Complex and provides direct pedestrian access. This Lot will fill up before the others.
- "LOT #2" (LUBERTO'S LOT): This Lot is directly across the street from the Herbst Field Complex and adjacent to Luberto's Restaurant. Tournament Parking is permitted only where indicated. Luberto's will have any vehicles parked in paved areas (reserved for restaurant activity) towed, as they have done in the past.
- "LOT #3" (PFIEFFER FARM LOT): This is a grass field with uneven terrain, avoid carrying coolers/tents, wear appropriate footwear.
- OFF-SITE CONTINGENCY PARKING: If we need to close one or more off-site lots due to wetness, alternative off-site parking will be made available. Sites will be identified on the Tournament web site. We will activate a shuttle service if necessary to transport persons to and from these off-site macadam lots.
